6. Antichrist – The Man of Sin

Paul the apostle writes in his second letter to the Thessalonians with respect to the man of sin, the Antichrist :

“…who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God” (Thessalonians B’, 2:4).

The theologists of all dogmas believe that the Antichrist has not come yet, and when he comes he will be a Jew. Many even believe that he will come from the tribe of Dan. The possible place for Antichrist to act is, considered by all, to be the King Solomon’s Temple, which as is widely believed will be rebuilt in the meantime on its previous position in Jerusalem. On the place, where king Solomon’s Temple was built, today exists a mosque which is considered to be the second most sacred worship place for the Moslems. But the reality as we have already seen, is quite and much different. Antichrist has already come, and his representative sat since a long time in the temple of God like God, showing himself that he is God.

There is only one temple which covers all the “Christian” dogmas and that is the Temple (Church) of the Resurrection or of the Holy Sepulcher that stands in Jerusalem. It is within this temple that Antichrist acts. (The real temple of God, as written by Paul the Apostle, is our body, the temple of the Holy Spirit, for all those that ask to take it from the Father in the name of Lord Jesus Christ, Corinthians A’, 6:19-20. God does not dwell in temples made with hands, Acts, 7:47-50).

Let us compare the following two scenes : God sits on His throne in His temple that is in heaven. The twenty-four elders who are sitting around His throne kneel and worship Him (Revelation 4:2-4 and 10-11). The second scene occurs within the Temple ( Church ) of the Resurrection or Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem at midday of the «Great» (or «Holy») Saturday. The elders (priests) of the different dogmas (except the Catholics) gather and kiss, according to the protocol, the hand of the Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem (in essence they adore him), in order to allow them to participate to the ceremony of the “Holy Flame” ! The Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem sits as God in the Temple of God !

During the ceremony of the “Holy Flame” the Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem “delivers the Holy Flame”, that is with different words “he makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men” (Revelation 13:13) as we have seen in the Chapter : The Beast and the False Prophet.

Something similar was done by the prophet Elijah in front of the people of Israel. But in that case Elijah prayed to God and God threw fire onto the altar (sanctuary) before their eyes, so that they would believe that their God is a real God. When the people of Israel saw the miracle that was done all yelled: “The Lord, He is God!” (Kings A’, 18:36-39). In contrary the Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem does this “miracle” entering only himself into the supposed to be the tomb of Christ, after he has been checked to show that he does not carry on him anything that can ignite fire, but not seen by the believers who are gathered around the “tomb”. After a while he comes out holding a bunch of lit candles from which the believers lit their candles. In this way the Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem proves himself to be God.

Here somebody has to note that in all “churches” of the Orthodox Church every “Holy Saturday” (but at midnight) a representation takes place of the ceremony of the “Holy Flame” at the time of the “Kalos Logos” i.e. the “Good Word”. During this ceremony when all the lights and candles of the “church” are put off, the priest gets into the “sanctuary” and subsequently he comes out holding a bunch of lit candles from which all the believers lit their own candles.

During 1987 the Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem Diodoros, was arrested by the Israelis at the border of Jordan and Israel, while he attempted to smuggle great quantities of gold and other valuable articles from Jordan to Israel using his car (Cyprus Newspaper, «Phileleftheros», 16th February 1987). This matter was considered closed before it saw the lights of publicity, although Israel initially threatened for his deportation. It seems that second thoughts convinced the Israelis that it was not serving their interests to continue further with this issue and be publicized, what this man that was bringing thousands of pilgrims to Israel every year to attend and follow the ceremony of the “Holy Flame” did.

Dear reader, if somebody was asking you : “Who is the Critic of Ecumeny?” what would you answer to him ? Surely you would answer to him that it is God. But according to the Orthodox Church the Critic – the Judge – of the Ecumeny (the Earth) is the Orthodox Patriarch of Alexandria, whose official and full title is: “Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria, Libya, Pentapolis, Ethiopia and all Africa and Judge (Critic) of the Earth (the Ecumeny)”. “Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name…” (Revelation, 13:6).

In the Catholic Church the man who takes the position of God is the Pope. Who else except God can say that he is infallible? But the Pope is considered infallible something that was recognized for him (!) by the Vatican during the Synod of 1870. (Pope discovered the “infallibility” as a counterbalance to the loss of material power since in 1870 the newly established Italian State, restricted the Pope’s worldly rule within the area of the Vatican).

Various scandals in the two Churches are repeated from time to time. During 1988 broke out a sexual scandal that shook the United States, with the “hero” an Orthodox Archimandrite. In 1979 a similar sexual scandal shook Greece with ”hero” the Orthodox Bishop of Preveza. Similar scandals see occasionally the light of publicity and in the Catholic church as well. In 1998 Catholic Church in U.S.A. had to pay a compensation of millions of dollars due to a sexual scandal in which a Catholic Priest was involved and which had to do with sexual harassment of little children. An investigation by an independent committee in Holland has shown that between 1945-2010, thousands of young girls have been raped by Catholic Priests and mistreated by Catholic Nuns. Jesus said : “For every tree is known by its own fruit” (Luke, 6:44), and “Every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire” (Luke, 3:9).
